    Ok,

This is another side to my previes post on this subject.
Got another question along the same line based on my
    prev. post here:
    http://www.vcdhelp.com/phpBB/viewtopic.php?topic=61592&forum=10

But, this time, I'd like to merge two clip section from the
    avi file, i.e.,
    * Assuming ALL .avi files are appended in VD,
    * and filters on in VD
    * TMPG loaded
    * using [x] Source to select only those scenes I want to
    encode to .mpg file
    a) In [x] Source and select a sertain scene I want,
say i.e., 500 frames of a scene, now...
    b) I want to move further in this source and select another
scene to encode as "one", sort of like merging or piecing
together two scenes from one .avi file and THAT encode
project .tpr file would generate an .mpg file based on those
    two scenes
    * continue with project .tpr(s) processing

If this makes for a better picture:

    a scene 00500 - 01600 frames
    b scene 01700 - 03000 frames
    c scene 02504 - 74001 frames
    d scene 84030 - 99000 frames + scene 101751 - 201751 frames
    e scene 220001 - 287411 frames

All the above would produce these files, i.e,

    a.mpg
    b.mpg
    c.mpg
d.mpg ' here we have those TWO scenes as one file
    e.mpg

Ok, I dont' want to use VD for cutting and merging,
I only want to do it in TMPG.

    Is this possible?

Thank you so much for this answer (I hope there is one) .

PS: also stay tuned to some more of my Improved clips!

name the source files as follows.
    a scene 00500 - 01600 frames =a.avi
    b scene 01700 - 03000 frames =b.avi
    c scene 02504 - 74001 frames =c.avi
    d scene 84030 - 99000 frames =d.00.avi+ scene 101751 - 201751 frames =d.01.avi
    e scene 220001 - 287411 frames =e.avi

All the above will produce these files, i.e,

    a.mpg
    b.mpg
    c.mpg
d.mpg ' here we have those TWO scenes as one file
    e.mpg

    Excuse me vhelp, wrong answer.
You serve one avi file and select the scenes using TMPG's source range.
So unfortunately I guess, it isn't possible, since at TMPG's source range you can select only one start frame and one end frame. That's why you have to encode d scene 84030 -99000 frames and d scene 101751 - 201751 frames as separate projects. Merge these two scenes afterwards. Sorry for having no better news.

    Thank you!

I really didnt want to do it in VD because that would defeat the
purpose of doing in tmpg - and would also add to the time for
editing, cause now I have to edit in both apps. I don't konw
why I keep thinking this but for some reason, I keep thinking
that a long time ago this was posible in tmpg but that I ignored
it because I didn't have any use for it. But, it's probably my
imagnation running while (wishfull thinking) ha, ha...

    Thank you again.
