I decided to throw my sony dvdr. because nero is not compatible with it.sux.
so i wanna noe what dvdrw which has the same writing capablitiy, and also can use nero and cheap.


the stats are: dvd+rw 4x, dvd+r 4x, DVD-RW 2x, DVD-R 4x, DVD-rom 12x, cd-rw 16x, cd-r 24x and cd-rom 32x.

if can recomand better and cheaper is better.
btw,i live in singapore. if those living in singapore can tell me the price is also good.

I have a SONT DRU500A. I haven't thrown it away, although I can understand your frustration.

I very recently bought a new Liteon 811S.

I have not burnt many disks yet, but I succesfully burnt some "garbage" low cost media my SONY was unable to burn (and some even recognize as DVDRs!!!).

I spent $150 for the drive. It records +R at 8x and +RW at 4x. -R have the usual max. speeds.

What has been the best "extra" feature is 40x recording on CDRs and 24x on CDRWs. My previous burner did 24x only on CDRs and I thought that was enough. 40x is even better.

Highly reccomended...

Liteon, NEC, Pioneer. All excellent drives... I suspect that Liteon and NEC will be the cheapest for you.
