Whats the problem ? Most brand name discs ( Fuji , Memorex , Verbatim , ect. ) are not manufactured by the company on the label . They contract other manufacturers to do it for them . Just check the media list .

Clarification? Fuji buys disks from various sources, Taiyo Yuden in Japan and Ricoh/Ritek in Taiwan---and there may be others. Look in the DVDMedia section over on the left and look up Fuji to see the different types of disks that users have found. The Ricoh 2.4x +R's have a pretty good rep, so I doubt you'll have problems with them.

Those are the exact same disks I bought at best buy the day after thanksgiving for $1 per disk. Although, dvdinfo reports them as 2.4X speed, if you have a lite-on burner you can burn them at 4X without any problem.

well, the confusion was that i thought fuji's are made in japan. and plus, i read here that if it's made from taiwan it's usually not good. i just thought i might have gotten a fake or some bad media since i thought that all fuji's are made in japan

No , not all Fuji discs are made in japan . Also , just because its from Taiwan does not mean its a low quality disc . Some very good brands come from Taiwan such as Ritek and Ricoh .

The only Fuji's I've seen Made in Japan (TY) are the 10-packs in jewel cases of DVD-R. Even the 10-packs of +R are Made in Tawain. All spindles +R or -R are Made Tawain.

The dvd media code that you listed (RICOHJPNR00) is richo manufactured and is of very good quality. I've burned about 75 of these and never had any problems, except with 3 of them that skip and jitted at the last 5 or 10 min of the movie, which could be in part to burning them at 4X speed. Either way that's a pretty good ratio.

right Fuji from japan = TY, from Tawain = Ricoh. I dont think I've seen reports of Fuji using anything other then those two for +R, which is why I took bestbuy up on its 4x 100 pack the other day.
Sadly I think that Fuji -Rs are to much of a gamble for me personally so I stay away from them.
