  1. specifically Finding Nemo, Lizzy Maguire, and Freaky Friday
DVDBackup starts working but gets hung up on a video title set:

    Decryption Problem

Failed to decrypt Video Title Set 17. Skip it and
    continue, or stop processing?

anyone know why this is coming up? I've never had it happen with any other DVDs. I'm authenticating it using VLC.

    Thanks,
    lennon

Having the same problem backing up my copy of Freaky Friday. I've researched every forum I've come across about this error and finally came across Lennon's same error code. I've also tried most the of the tricks that I've read, including your guides Galactica. No matter what I try, I can't get around that same error for Title Set 17. Could this possibly be a new form of encryption?

    Has anyone cracked this one?

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Fun

    have the same problems.
    Starting a log:

    Disney---
FREAKY FRIDAY--vob set 17. DVDBackup cannot read.
LILO and STITCH--vob set 13. DVDBackup cannot read.
Pirates of the Carribean--vob set 17. DVDBackup cannot read.

    Dimension--
Equilbrilium--vob set 3 ( Dimension Home Video Splash)
--vob set 5 (DVD Coming Soon Splash)

Disney/Dimension/Mirmax/Touchstone is doing wierd things to their
DVDs. I have tried the soap trick, played DVD ALL the way through,
    same problems occur with DVDBackup.

    Will try OSEX.

IF ANY mods can test these out, gladly would appreciate it.

Disney et al are merely authoring their discs with the maximum amount of CSS encryption available in the spec, and are not doing anything wrong. I am looking at my DVD-R copy of Lilo and Stitch as proof that even these discs are copyable.

As stated nearly seven hundred times throughout this forum, Disney DVDs often use a different encryption key for each title set. Furthermore, I've experienced some DVDs that switch keys within the title set when they have adopted multi-angle features to prevent newbies from making copies easily.

For the umpteenth and last time: play a few second of every available portion of the DVD, even trailers, special bonus features, Angela Lansbury blabbering on about her non-existent career, EVERYTHING. Then and only then will you be able to make a successful copy using DVDBackup.

Whatever happened to doing a forum search? I know I've answered this questions several times on my own. Its not that the same questions get asked over and over again -- it's just bad form to clearly not have searched first!

Yeah, the only disc that continues to challenge me (and defeat me) is disc three of season one of Six Feet Under. I think it's a mastering error or a pressing error, and not an encryption problem.

  8. I have never had this problem with the primary group of VOB's that make up the main movie, so I have just let it it skip over them, no biggie. DVD2ONE does not appear to need these to do a "movie only" copy anyway. But thanks for the info.

    Ant,
we all have searched the forum.
Hell, I even contributed to several of those
    'Play the Entire disk posts'.
The problem remains that even if you PLAY the entire disc,
and even the parts about trailers of Disney movies going in the vault,
Angela Lansbury blowing Mike Eisner for a job, Clint Howard's
    umpteenth shot at 15 sec. of fame, 20, 30, 50 times, &
YOU STILL CAN GET THE ERRORS in DVD Backup with DISNEY product DVDS.

Now, here is what I have found that you can do to get around this:

On Problem Disney DVDs, use OSEX and the "DVD folders" option.
This bypasses that problem. Why Disney is choosing to
do what they do is for Disney to decide, but to get a good backup,
    this works.

Is it DVDBackup? DVDPlayer not decrypting and storing keys?
Disney's DVDs inherent with some voodoo-hoodoo that prevents the key
from being stored in /library/DVDPlayer/? The fact I live where I live and you live where you live?
Don't know, and since nobody else cares except how to get around it,
    let's move on.

    For Dimension DVDs, repeat same.
    for Touchstone DVDs, repeat same.

You can also use the suggestion to skip and just do movie copy,
but since DVDTOX allows you to do near perfect, why even bother
    with movie copy only anymore?

Galactica--Signs should be Dimension(?) which is Disney, I'd have to look it up.

Because this is the Mac board.

But I have had few problems with Disney DVD backups since I turned to MacTheRipper or YadeX.
