  1. I got a bit adventurous and tried to join 3 DVDs (after extracting them with DVDBackup) and back them up using DVD2OneX 1.2 (I didn't realise this version has a join feature). Anyway the file is too big too burn. I left the output at 4472 but when I try to burn it says the DVD is 4.9 GB after joining them selecting 4472??? Is there anything I've done wrong? How do I make the file smaller so I can back it up? Should I import that 4.9 GB file into DVD2OneX?

  3. But the last 5 DVDs I backedup/burned were all with that setting and it worked fine. It's the file that DVD2oneX produced was 4.9 GB and I'm not sure why it's done that - can it only join two DVDs? I don't understand how I selected 4472 and it came out 4.9GB?

Three DVDs is a bit much to ask DVD2OneX to do. At a certain point the software can no longer make compromises in quality for the amount of data you're trying to cram in there. It should have even given you a warning screen that says the total original size is more than double the final projected size.

Another thing you can try is to take the 4.9gb VIDEO_TS folder from your first try and then crunch that. Just be warned that you're going very deep into Blocky Image City.

  5. OK

The 3rd DVD was only half an hour so I thought it might be OK. But the second attempt at 4444 again produced a 4.9GB file. I'll try and do one now with just the two DVDs which I imagine will be fine.

Cheers for all your help and Happy New Year!!!

  6. PS

What shall I call the new file when I burn it in toast. I usually choose the name of the disc but obviously now there's two???
