Load the video into Virtual Dub, and note how long the video runs. Then load it into Gold Wave, and note how long the audio runs. If the audio ends to soon, you can select Effect-->Time Warp... to make the audo in synch with video when you save it and mux it with the original video.

Check to see if the audio and video are the same length again. If they are tell me how far off the audio is from the video.

  5. Hi,
Ive also been having this 'gradual sync gain' problem. I have recently converted an AVI file to a MPEG using virtualdub to split the vide and audio and then encoded it with TMPGenc. When the video starts it is out of sync, then after about 4mins30secs of playing it is in sync and stays in sync throughout the rest of the video.

Tommyknocker I have found the information you said you needed to know.

In Virtual dub it says that its legnth is 0:25:33.635

I GoldWave it says that its legnth is 0:25:33.257

Therefore the difference is 0.378 seconds

Any help you can give is highly appreciated
    Thanks a lot

  6. This is in addition to my last post:

I forgot to include that until the audio and video is in sync (until about 4mins30secs into the video) The audio is before the video - so I can hear people say something before I see tham say it.

    Thanks again

  7. My File is:
    Video: 1.46.27.93
I see the video information in virtual dub.
And then i extract the audio in goldwave and it tell me that is:
    Audio: 1.46.23.568.

I try to put in goldwave the same time that the video and for diferent times i try some other lenght but when it become right in the end is not sync in the beggining and if is sync in the beggining at long the film go it become the sound early.
    Can you Help me?

    One of two things:

Save the file under a new file name, the new file should not have the questionable frames.

    Or click here.

Of course. It is how you know what frames on your video are bad, so you can edit them out.
