  1. I'm trying to add a music soundtrack to my current DVD project as an extra feature. As in an orignal soundtrack (A music CD). I've converted all the songs to .ac3 format, but now I have no clue what to do with them. There doesn't seem to be a way to create a menu with buttons that simply link to music.

What I can do is create many 'movies' and just add the songs as the audio for them. Will this work, or is a video track necessary? If that is the case, what can I add in place of the video track that won't take up much space, so that I can use it for all 40-something songs? Or even better, is there a guide for this sort of thing in DVDLab? I tried searching, but couldn't find anything even similar.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

you could make a menu with the name of the song, and the ac3 file as the music. then make a master menu that links to each song menu.

once they select a song, they go to the menu with the song playing in the background...

  3. I was thinking that too, and now I'm trying to remember why I disregarded that idea.

Ahh, it was because the menu loops the music, and I was hoping more for something that would go back to the main menu automatically when the song finishes. Although I suppose this way still requires the least amount of work.

    Thanks

take a look in the help file.. I think you can set the menus up to be one-shots, not loops.

there may also be a way to make it play through, and then end with a (hidden, even) button becoming active. you could set it to be a force-action button, so it automatically returned you to the main menu.

if I get a chance in the next day or two, I'll play around with it and see if I can get it to work.

  5. Ahh, thanks much. I just found another downside to that idea. Creating upwards of 40 menus seems to drain pretty much all my system resources

  6. You could also do a slide show with just one pic per track
"Hello. My name is Inigo Montoya. You killed my father. Prepare to die."

  7. Is there a way to make a different song for each pic? When I tried making a slideshow, it looked as if you could only add one song which carried through for the entire slideshow.

ake a look at the guide: DVD with Multiple Audio Streams - Basic Guide

This guide explains how you would add an alternative soundtrack to your movie using IfoEdit and DVDLab. It might help you achieve what you are after.
