  1. Hello. Just burned my first dvdr from a dvd. It plays in my norcent but not in my sony. But that is probably just the fact that the sony might not play dvd-r. I just have a couple of questions... I used DVDDecrypter to save to my HD then I used DVDSHrink to reduce the size of the whole DVD to fit on a 4.7...then used Nero to burn.
    1) The guides for nero say to transfer the video folder over to the nero burn area and then press write. In the guides there is a video and audio folder....I didnt have any video and audio folder after Decrypter was finished. I had a whole bunch of files. And the same when DVDShrink was finished...a whole bunch of files....so I took all of the files and transfered them over to nero and burned. Am I correct in doing this?
    2) Nero gave me two possible error messages before it would let me burn ...one was a compliance error and the other was was a read error and then it warned me that it might not play if burned in some dvd players.....I took this to be standard error messages. Am I correct about that? Or is it because I was missing something?
    Thanks

  2. when you burned with nero, did you select dvd-video mode?

  3. Yes I selected dvdmode then when Nero opens up to burn mode you have to add your files to the left hand side of nero....which has a audio and video folder that are empty. Do I put everything into the video folder and delete the empty audio folder?

Put all your files into the VIDEO_TS folder that Nero has created . Do not delete the AUDIO_TS folder , some players need this empty folder to be present . Now burn your compilation , you should not get any non-compliance warnings this time . Good luck .
Keep it on the big cam !

  5. I suggest you do this very simple 1 step solution to all your problems.
Take one of your Movie DVDs (the factory jobs), put it in your DVD drive, use Windows Explorer and view the contents of the disk. Just do this to about 5 of your Movie DVDs. You will see exactly what I meant above.

The AUDIO_TS folder is usually empty. I'm not really sure why it's there because I've never seen it contain any files. The VIDEO_TS folder is where your movie and menus goes. Any other files located in the 'ROOT' of your MOVIE DVDs is probably nothing but junk.

Sometimes I feel real good and will put an AUDIO_TS folder on my DVDs, sometimes not. They play the same for me either way. The AUDIO_TS folder is not needed.

Using DVD Decrypter to rip your disks is a good idea. Many people use DVD Shrink and do both jobs at once, but I've read where that can be very hard on your DVD drive. DVD Shrink is a great program. I've seen it mess up before, but not often. It does a good job even when putting 2 movies on 1 DVD. I don't use NERO cause I don't like it. I use RecordNow DX.

    Good luck.

The AUDIO_TS folder is there because it is required for a dvd video to be fully compliant with dvd specs . Just because your equipment will play a disc without it does not mean everyones will . For full compliance it must contain an AUDIO_TS folder .
Keep it on the big cam !

  7. Ok....Now I get this ..."DVDvideo files reallocation failed...The resulting dvd might be unplayable.". Anyone ever see that?

  8. found this in another thread. sounds like you might be missing some ifo files. When you rip the movie using dvd decrypter are you ripping all files or just the main movie?

  9. What the h@ll was that!

Upgrade NERO to the newest version. By what I've found that should fix it.

    Good luck.

    1) Use DVDDecrypter in ISO mode - Read then Write....simple....if the DVD is NORMAL size.

    2) Use DVDShrink to re-author the dual layer DVD to fit to a DVDR. Use IFOEdit to create an image of the files DVDShrink created....then burn in DVDDecrypter's ISO Write mode.

    DVDDecrypter - FREE
    DVDShrink - FREE
    IFOEdit - FREE

    3) Use Nero to burn CD's.

  11. Thanks for all the replies. They helped me alot. The nag messages in nero where because I didnt have the right video folder created. Nero didnt like that. When I did everything step by step I saw that the folder wasnt correct....and also when I did everything my sony dvd player played the movie without a problem. I used Decrypter Dvd2one and Nero to burn. Thanks everyone.
