Backup your DVD Movies to VHS!

Here's a way that will work on ANY VCR that you own.

1) Rip the DVD to your HD.
2) Re-encode the video to about 4.0Gbyte.
3) Burn the re-encoded video to a DVD-R.
4) Put this new DVD-R into your DVD player connected to your VCR.
5) Simultaneously press the RECORD button on your VCR and the PLAY button on your DVD player.
6) Result? A DVD transfered to ANY VCR!

Yes, it's really this easy!

If youve got a dvd burner then whats the point of VHS backups, your method invilves the need to make a dvd backup first, ehich seems a waste to me

I just bought my first rock and santa brought me some blood. How do I backup LOTR_3.divx.avi.kazaa to fit on one DVD disk. I just want to let everyone know that I downloaded it from one of them p2p thingy's and I read that this is piracy, but the rules don't apply to me, teehee.

Also, I heard that there were many types of blood. Grade A,B, and C, which when I put it in bloodinfo says type O. Is that any good?

Oh yea, my puter (God, I hate that fricking word, "puter") doesnt plug into the rock. Um, like, its a greyish rock, and stuff. Please reply immediately because I am desparate and have searched all over the net.

Is that type O blood +O or -O Blood. -O blood I heard is more compatiable with most rocks.

Yea, I have 0- blood and it spreads on most rocks smoother than 0+.

I heard the 0- blood is losing the battle over 0+ though. Guess I'll need a transfusion or buy one of those multi blood ones that can do blood in both types. Of course +0 had blood setting, which allows for more red blood cells in the blood, which makes it better than -0.

Since I have -o blood, I am ok as long as I play it on my old rock. When the new rocks come out (in a few billion years), I'll have to upgrade to +0 blood.

Did you hear that next year they are coming out with dual layer blood(r) rocks and we will be able to smear blood on the two layers so we wont have to remove white blood cells from the blood in order to get it to fit on one rock.

LOL you guys are going way OT. But I'll bite. You might think writing 1,000 marks on a skin using blood is impressive. Wait until the aliens pays us a visit. They have blue blood, you'll be able to write 10,000 marks with that! But beware of other species of aliens having green blood or different kinds of skins, you might not be able to read them.

now back on topic, I do remember Toshiba VCRs (back in the days say... 1992?) have no macrovision. I was able to copy VHS to VHS with toshiba VCRs with no problems. There's also a small cigarette pack sized box that "filters" macrovision.

I just got one of those "Rockoh" brand stone burners (that uses those new "round" stones that were just invented), and it burns +R(ock) and -R(ock) equally well - but... I'm still waiting for my rebate! The price was 110 dino's with a 10 dinosaur rebate. I haven't gotten my rebate yet and I'd like to know if anyone has the correct smoke signal to contact the company...I'm pissed. Their old number ( 1 - 800 - eat rock ) has been disconnected. I've waited over 1000 yrs. for my rebate and they promised it in 600 years. What can I do? Can I return it to the cave I bought it at ( Caveit City ) or should I just give up?
