  1. I was trying to use TMPGnc to convert an AVI file to MPG (in order to burn a DVD). However, when I tried to set the VIDEO SOURCE to the AVI file, TMPGnc said it was not supported and hence I failed to do so.

Could anyone tell me the correct way to do the conversion pls? Or any other better way to do the conversion.

    Thanks

What is your source format? It could be in DivX or XviD. You need DivX or XivD codec installed in or for TMPGEnc to read your source file. You can download the DivX codec from www.divx.com.

  4. Thanks Kahooi.

It seemed to work. However, the free trial of my TMPEnc MPEG-2 Encoding function has already expired. Is there any freeware that I can use to achieve the same purpose please?

BBMPEG will convert to mpeg-2. But it is painfully slow.
