I have a panny DMR-80 DVD recorder but its lack of an IR blaster has really slowed me down on scheduled programs (you need to setup timer on for example your dish unit and then again on the dvd recorder)
Anyway, I would like you all to comment as to what you recommend for a PVR and keeping the cost under $300-400 assuming that you already have a pretty robust computer.
-Capture card with real time mpeg 2 recording (e.g. Hauppauge WinTV-PVR-250
- Software to go with above for the capture, recording, scheduling,...
- IR blaster (e.g. "Myblaster") to be integrated with above so that once you schedule a "recording" say with Titantv.com, it would change the channel on you cable box/dish receiver automatically.
Ultimate goal is to have high quality mpeg 2 files that are DVD comliants and are ready to be authored in as automatic way as you can have it
Thanks,

Try look at SageTV and Beyond TV they both work with Dish receiver and both them have build EPG so there no need for Titantv there are other IR Blasters
