  2. So it doesn't do that on all the DVDs you've burned, just some? Sounds like a media problem. You didn't say what media you're using, if you don't know exactly, use DVDINFOpro to find out.

You could try shrinking your file further to about 4GB, sometimes that helps with dicey media. Or burn with DVDDecrypter. Try different things, something will work assuming no faulty hardware.

What he means is its most likely the brand of blank DVD you are using. He suggested you test one and find out its brand. 99% of media freeze/pause issues turn out to be crummy disc.

  5. Hello

Try using DVDShrink, there is a link on this website and also a very good guide. This tool can be used to pull any section of the movie to your hard drive. If you want a complete replica of the original disk you will have to use high compression which can effect quality. I OTOH am only interested in the movie when I backup so I copy just that section. This way I can keep the resulting file at the 4Gb mark and still have a low compression level so therefore a good quality output.

I have had the jumpy disks at the end and they are because of poor quality media. As advised try and get the output to about 4gb mark and also reduce burning speed, this has saved several of my poor quality disks from being a complete waste.

Also, don't be afraid of new software, the guides on this site will tell you all you need to know.
