TMPGEnc not responding

[so]

i have a divx movie that i converted to avi with virtual dub - now i want to encode the project into mgeg file to burn on dvd...i get through all of the instructions for the best settings etc but when finished setting all the proper settings the program freezes and task manager indicates the program is not responding. i uninstalled the program - even upgraded to the lastest version, but still getting no where - please help. thanks in advance.

thanks for the response - i have checked the links - i'm not getting any error messages....and there are no bad files in the movie, and am still unable to encode. everything works fine up until the moment it is suppose to encode and then it just sits there - task manager shows that it is not responding. any other ideas?
