Pixelated DVD!

I am using CloneDVD & AnyDVD to backup my movie collection. All seemed to go well till I thought I'll just view one, make sure it's ok, it wasn't. After about 45 mins the picture went pixelated (several squares that seemed to breed like rabbits), then the sound went and the DVD player crashed with the counter resetting itself to zero. I have tried Bulkpaq, Datasafe, Ritek (grade A), Maxell, Imation and unbranded media. All have the same problem. I went to update the firmware on my Pioneer 106D writer but found it already has v1.07. Acccording to the forums this seems to be the writer to have. In order to narrow things down a bit I burnt the image again from my hard drive, only the same thing happened (pixelated squares) but after 5 mins. I did an on the fly copy with the same results (again in a different place after about 20 mins). I have Norton Anti-virus 2003 but disable this when doing anything on the pc other than the Internet. I have checked my drive for a virus and nothing is found. Thanks in advance.

Razza - I had a similar problem earlier in the year. I was using DVD2One, which gives me a good picture generally, but I always got pixellation every ten or fifteen minutes. If I burned the files again, I'd get the pixellation again; sometimes in the same place, more often in a different place.
I've tried most of the transcoders available; the only one I use that doesn't give me pixellation is DVD Shrink. Now, I obviously can't say that the transcoder you are using is the problem, but DVD Shrink is free, and it would be worth trying it and writing to a RW disc just to see

I have downloaded DVD Decrypter, Image Tool and DVD Shrink due to the problems I have had with CloneDVD and AnyDVD. However, I don't seem to be able to burn my existing images from my h/d onto DVD-R? Can you please advise whether this is the case and if there is any freeware out there that I can do this with? Again thanks in advance.

I stopped using ANYDVD.... I went back to ripping with DVD Decrypter then using my favorite Transcoding program. My experiences with ANYDVD were not good at all ...some DVD's had pauses throughout...or pixelation. Since I went back to DVD Decrypter all my problems went away.


To burn your images right click on them and select burn with DVD Decrypter..Make sure you have the latest DVD Decrypter.
