  1. First of all I'd like to say thanks to everyone involved with this site and members in this forum as you've made it so easy for me to burn DVD-Rs on my Mac.

    I've got an imac 17" superdrive, Toast 5.2.1, DVDBackup 1.3 and DVD2oneX version 1.2.0.

    1. How do I put two DVDs onto one disc ie I have a title with two seperate DVDs for parts one and two. I would imagine I need to extract the files using DVDBackup and then put all the files from the 2 DVDs into one folder then import them into DVD2oneX but I'm concerned about names being the same etc Do I need to re-name any of them and how do I get rid of both menus. I can take screen shots of the files if that helps?

    2. In DVD2oneX if I choose a higher qulity sound option (can't remember the options) will that affect the image quality a great deal? Whats the best ratio of image to sound quality?

    3. Is it worth me upgrading to the latest version of DVD2oneX?

    4. Does anyone in the UK (might get hit by customs if its outside the UK) have any recommendations where to buy good quality DVD-Rs at a reasonable price. Because I was desperate to try burning I paid £50 at PC world for 20 Panasonic DVD-Rs - I know I paid over the top but as I said I'm a newbie and need some recommendations for reliable websites.

    Cheers in advance!!!

NOOOO!!! dont put them in one folder!
what you do is extract both disks to their own folders. you will then use dvd2one's JOIN feature to join the two folders together for a final file size of 4.4 gigs. this will be movie only copy and will remove the menu's and extras automatically.

just open dvd2one, choose JOIN and select your first video-ts folder. choose an audio set for it and pick the movie title (usually the longest)
then in the left menu you will see a green check for that folder.
use the + sign at the bottom left to add another movie to the app, ensure its highlighted (you will now have 2 selections in the left window, one is checked the other is not, make sure the unchecked one is highlighted.) browse for the 2nd video-ts folder, and select it
choose its audio and movie title.

set the file size to 4444, and click start.
this will join the two dvd's into one VIDEO_TS folder for you to burn.

    make since?

the only way you can do this is to chooose more than one sound option. the more you choose the more megs the sound files take up and the less you can designate for the video.
there is no set ratio, its totally up to you! I just use the main audio feature, and only select it!

    3. Is it worth me upgrading to the latest version of DVD2oneX?
HA you need the latest to have this JOIN feature. It doesnt cost anything since you have the others registered, just download it!

  4. Thanks for the quick reply 'Galatica'. I need to get the latest version of DVD2oneX then for that 'Join' feature.

The question about the sound was on one DVD for example I get:

    2 Channel
    6 Channel
    and 6 Channel DTS

Would i be right in thinking that if I choose all three the image quality will suffer greatest. If I choose just 6 Channel DTS, image quality won't be as good if i choose 2 Channel?

Hope someone from the UK can answer my last question.

Once again thanks for your help!!!

its not like its going to SUFFER so much you cant watch it.
you will just notice a difference between if you chose them ALL vs if you just chose one.

pick the one you want and run the app.
then pick them all and rerun it saving it somewhere else.

open both and compare to see what i mean.

regarding DVD-Rs in the UK, you'll get the best price ordering online (that cram computers link looks decent, thanks demonjuggler) but even if you stick to the high street you should be able to do better than £50 for 20! For instance the local Dixons here (Cambridge area) was offering 10 Packard Bell DVD-Rs for £12.50 last week (work pretty good for me, only 1 coaster out of about 50 so far).

    Hope this helps
