  1. Hi,
I'm new here in the forum and first of all I want to say hello from Germany....

I captured a movie by my DVB card. On my HD I have now a MPEG file with the movie. WinDVD plays the movie without problems.
If I de-multiplex by TMPEG, in order to burn it on DVD, audio is async. The audio file has different length and is at the beginning 2 or 3 sec async, and at the end 12-13 sec. But again, WinDVD plays the movie perfect.

There must be some errors in the audio stream ... ?

How can I extract the audio stream from the MPEG file with correct length....? Or is there a way to fix the errors ....? (without working for hours with a wav editor ....)

Many thanks for your help !

    Heiko

Make a note of the exact length of the video file. Load the original video into Gold Wave, and see how long it says the audio is. If it is too long, delete the exact excess from the beginning. If it is too short, add the exact amount of silence to the beginning. Chus!
    Hello.

  3. I wish the solution would be so easy....
But at the beginning I have a different gap as at the end of the file ...

Did you resolve your problem? I have the EXACT same problem. I capture with my Leadtek 2000XP Deluxe card, and when i author my files with TMPGEnc DVD Author, the audio goes out of sync towards the middle of the show.

COuld this be dropped frames from the video being taken out when process, then the audio length doesnt match anymore? Is there a way to not let this happen?

  5. Hi!
Yes, I solved the problem !

The tool you need is PVAStrumento. It is an amazing small prog (and its free!), that fixes errors in the audio/video streams. Please check out http://www.offeryn.de/ . The author of the tool gives a lot of information how and why it works on his web page!

Wow! So far, so good (ive only tested it on a couple of files). It seems it cuts the bad frames out or something, and keeps the audio in sync. Do you know what it does exactly? Most of the text on the main website is in another language (german ?)

The processed file does have a few jerks in it now and then, but its better then reencoding or the sync problem.

Where did you find out about the program anyway? (besides it being in the Tools section)

  7. Please see the helpfile. The information there is more detailed and 100% english. (You are right, it cuts audio in case video frames are missing...)

I found the tool as link in the FAQ of Hauppauge. I could not believe that I am the only one in the whole world with that problem and I started reading, reading, reading ....

By the way: If you have to much jerks, you must see how to improve the receiving quality. I have only a few very very small jerks.
