Is it just me or does the Roxio DVD player software that came with my Plextor PX-708A look very much the same as PowerDVD? As a matter of fact, I thought I opened PowerDVD. Guess they have a deal or something...

PowerDVD also looks a bit like WinDVD too. It could probably be just that Roxio wanted to make their's look like PowerDVD so users that in the past used PowerDVD would be more comfortable with its own player and be more willing to switch. I haven't heard anything about Cyberlink being aquired/merged with Roxio(Adaptec), but they could have, or Roxio could be liscensing Cyberlink to create their player.

Hello, I mentioned this in a few other threads too. It is definately PowerDVD. It even says "Cyberlink audio/sp decoder" in the properties of mpeg-2 files that I play and I think I've even seen it referenced as "PowerDVD" in some other applications on my computer. Ah, the one good thing that came with my drive! I think it is labeled as "Roxio DVD Max"
