  1. I'm looking to find a good program to put menus on my VCD's. I have Nero, but the menus it has are kind of simple, and I'd like to be able to customize them a little more. Like I'd like to be able to have a main menu, and then choose an item, and have another menu come up with a couple more choices. Also, I'd like to be able to really specify where on the menu the items will appear.

Anybody have any suggestions? Something fairly easy to use would be super....

    Thanks for any input!!!

  4. I did download the trial of VCDEasy, I guess I'll have to mess with it a little more. It just looks kind of complicated. And I was hoping to not have to buy anything. I'll play with VCDEasy some more tomorrow, maybe I'll be able to figure it out.

    Any other suggestions?

  5. Have a closer look at VCDEasy.

If you don't want to buy anything, then get the last freeware version of VCDEasy (version 1.1.5.2).

VCDEasy is a GUI to VCDImager, so if you want to learn how the underlying system works, I suggest have a look at here: http://www.michaeltam.com

  7. I played with VCDEasy some more, and it looks like it wouldn't be too bad, but I can't get it to burn. I get through the whole thing, and it makes the BIN/CUE File, but I don't know how to burn. I found a guide that said how to burn using VCDEasy, but it didn't work for me, I just got an error about one of my drivers possibly being not up to date.

Is there any program that makes vcd menus similar to DVD menus, like where you can move your selection up and down with your dvd remote, and it kind of highlights or underlines the text as you are on it? Or do all VCD menus require you to select a number to select which clip you want to watch?

I really appreciate all your help!

  8. If you've got the BIN/CUE files, all you need to do is burn using Nero. The BIN/CUE files are CD IMAGES -- ready to burn.

    If Nero --

    1. Load Nero
    2. Close Wizard
    3. Click on FILE (top left corner)
    4. Select BURN IMAGE
    5. Browse to where the BIN/CUE file is located
    6. Select the CUE file
    7. Click on WRITE

    If Nero Express --

    1. Load Nero Express
    2. Select DISC IMAGE OR SAVED PROJECT
    3. Change FILE TYPE to IMAGE FILES (*.NRG, *.ISO,*.CUE)
    4. Browse to where the BIN/CUE file is located.
    5. Select the CUE file
    6. Click on NEXT

That's it for Nero !! The BIN/CUE files are already authored and are actually IMAGES. All you need to do is burn them to CD.

  9. It worked! THanks so much! I tryed it on a cd-rw and it's going to work perfect. Now that I know how to do this, as soon as I can get my mpeg videos just how I want them, I can burn and be done!

Thanks again. This site is the best!
