    I have a large collection of digital pics and audio in WAV files which I would like to distribute to ex-patriates scattered all over the world. DVD capacity will be needed. I've read the authoring articles and Photoshop seems the answer to most of my needs but... its very expensive and the budget is tight. Photoshop elements is available at a fraction of the cost. Would it do the job for me as I don't need to handle video? I would like to include;
    Menus, fades and dissolves, frames synched to audio (sometimes several a second), Ken Burns effect as mentioned in another article.

    How do I prepare DVDs for the different zones across the world?

    Thanks in advance for your help.

    If the stuff you are preparing is of your own making, it won't have a region code on it so that won't be a problem. To make the disks compatible with virtually everywhere, you will probably need to make them US standard NTSC. US standard players will only play NTSC but European (and other) PAL machines will handle both PAL and NTSC.
