.....the pc take?
Want to know cause I just got a dv camcorder ....and want to try out firewire..but have to get the cable first..so I wanted to know first..

The transfer happens as fast as the DV tape runs. If you have 60mins worth of video on that tape and want to capture it to one long DV AVI file then the whole thing will ALSO take exactly 60mins. The only time it is longer is when batch capture is done (the capture program ff and rew the tape to capture specific segments of video on that tape).
For the nth time, with the possible exception of certain Intel processors, I don't have/ever owned anything whose name starts with "i".
