Encoding my DV-AVI files from my Camcorder (Sony PC 8) via my PC and Ulead Videostudio 6 and Dr.DivX gives a result on the same level as VCD.
When I connect the Camcorder direct to my television the quality is perfect.
When I Encode a film (DVD) to DivX the quality is also perfect.

I have tried the following:
1:
DV-AVI to DivX direct without copying the files to the harddisc - very bad quality
2:
DV-AVI to DivX by copying the files to the harddisc using the compression the Dr.Divx recommends - bad quality.
3:
DV-AVI to DivX by copying the files to the harddisc using less compression the Dr.Divx recommend - bad quality.
4:
DV-AVI to DVD and thereafter encode to DivX - very bad quality.

I hope that someone will be able to help me - It must be possible to get a quality that is close to DVD.
