Hello, first off I am extremely new to all of this. I have downloaded a divx movie in .avi and wanted to convert it to SVCD since my Panasonic CV-51 player can play almost anything. I already had Nero 5.5 as my burning program, and I followed the How To's on this site with the TMPGenc program. After taking 8 hours to encode the 1:22:49 movie, I loaded the .mpg into Nero to burn and it gave me this error message.

...file is invalid....need mpeg2 which is (lists audio settings) Video: 480x480 at 29.97hz or 480x576 at 25hz

the following problems were found:
- invalid video stream: 29.97 frames/second, 480x480 pixels

You are creating a SuperVCD 1.0 compliant CD but the mpeg is not suitable

I abbreviated alot of the error message but you can get the basic point. I first looked at it and the "errored" stream fits the comformity listed above! I went ahead and burned the CD and on my DVD player its as if it is playing a few frames at a time. Funny thing is when I hit the fast forward button on the player in 2x mode it looks somewhat normal. I have tried redoing many settings in TMPGEnc and re-encoding the file many times. Each time the same error pops up and the burned CD gives the same problem. It has become quite frustrating as it ties up my computer for 8 hours at a time on each encoding attempt. What am I doing wrong?

If this helps any, when I load the original file into TMPGenc without selecting any template, it gives this information at the bottom of the screen:

MPEG-1 720x352 24fps CBR 1150kbps, Layer-2 48000Hz 192kbps

Also, TMPGEnc wont encode the audio off the file so I had to use VirtualDub to make a wave of the audio. Also I am trying to make the SVCD into NTSC format. I tried using the film template since the 24fps is the speed film runs at, and I get the same problem. I am totally lost! Any help or advice I can get on this is greatly appreciated. Thank you.
