Is it possible to tell exactly which version of DivX was used to create a DivX file?

I know AVIcodec will report whether it was v3, v4 or v5 but is it possible to get any more accurate information than that? A report of "v5" doesn't tell you whether it was v5.0, v5.01, v5.02, v5.05, v5.1 or v5.11 for instance.

Nup. That only shows you the file **De**compressor. That means the installed codec on the current machine it is going to use to decompress the loaded video stream. If you have DivX 5.11 Pro installed (as I do), then it always reports DivX 5.11 regardless of what version of DivX the video was actually encoded with.
