I have two Divx video clips with VBR MP3 audio. I have been trying for two weeks to get either one to an authoring stage to make a vob file I can burn to DVD. I have done the following:
Per advice used Virtualdub to extract VBR MP3 to wav
Used headAC3he to convert wav to mp2
Used TMPGEnc Plus to encode DIVX video to MPEG 2 using the following guides more than once.
https://www.videohelp.com/forum/userguides/186739.php
http://dvd-hq.info/Compression.html
Used bitrate caculator for the 1:33:34 video length (Cal.bitrate 6322)
Using TMPGE to encode in ES (video only) my 96:34 M:S file is 484:24 M:S and it has video for the first 96:34 and the remaining 387:50 shows the final frame of the first 96:34. The size is 8.50GB instead of the 4.37GB it should be. It has taken anywhere from 7 to 11 hours to encode depending which guide I am using. I have even tried using TMPGE to simple multiplex these length mismatched m2v and mp2. I get a video that is jerky and audio that is garbled. Once I started encoding using the latter of the above guides and when the estimated time popped up 45 hours I aborted. Help needed Thanks Foz
