    i am trying to convert a flash slide show (.swf file) into a .avi or .mpg that i can play as a movie. is there any way i can do this? i tried to convert to .avi with virtualdub but didn't work.

    any help is greatly appreciated, thanks in advance,

    You may want to try CamStudio to capture the flash video to AVI as it is running.

    Hi nightscape,

    IF You've got Adobe Premiere, you can get an SWF add-in for it that will allow you to import the .swf file into the timeline. You can then edit as usual and export to your chosen format.

    Downside is that Premiere costs, and takes some getting around...

    You can convert in flash mx itself...

    You just have to save your file, then file > export movie (Cntrl + Alt + Shift + S)> choose a file name > choose if you like to compree the movie.

    Magic Swf2Avi is better.

    Magic Swf2Avi is a professional tool that can convert swf to avi which can be downloaded from http://www.effectmatrix.com/swf2gif

    If you want to convert to mpeg, TMpgEnc can be used.
