  1. Hi, i'm not totally a newbie, but I've come across a teeny problem..

On SOME dvd to vcd conversions, the mpg file from Dvdx has perfect audio-video sync, yet when I burn it in Nero (or VcdEasy with chapters) the sync is out (about 1/4 to 1/2 second - you know, chinese kung fu movie style (LOL)).

This is on a stand alone player. The mpg on the hard drive is perfect. And it's not all movies, more like a very small number (1 in 10 maybe).

    Any ideas?

  2. I'm not that familiar with your dvd software program. It could be causing the sync problems or your standalone player could be the problem. If the newly created vcd plays ok on your computer but not in your stand-alone player, it is more than likely the fault of your player. I had a similar problem with certain vcd's getting out of sync on my Apex 500D but never getting out of sync on my GE 1101. You can check the rating of your DVD Player on this site to see if your player is known to have any problems. Some DVD players are known for being able to play almost anything flawlessly (i.e. - Pioneer 333/343 or GE 1101) while others including some expensive major brands, will stutter or refuse to play your disks or as in your case allow the sound track to get out of sync.

    GOOD LUCK!
