  1. Hi,

I've burned a DVD with Ulead MF2 which appears to have placed a fodler containing the background images onto the dvd, i.e there are three folders on the DVD:

    Audio-TS
    Video-TS
    Ulead

I am unable to rip my own DVD so as to remove the offending folder, although the disc place perfectly (I want to change the menu).

Anyone got any ideas how I can rip this disc - I've tried Decrypter, Smartripper and EazyVCD, none work I just get the cyclical redundancy message towards the end of the rip and then they crash.

Copy all the files in the VIDEO_TS folder to your hard dive. Then use Nero to burn them in the VIDEO_TS directory in that program.
    Hello.

  3. Hi TK,

OK, tried that. The rip gets to: Vts_01_4.VOB then crashes. Everything else rips fine. Obviously there is a problem with this 4th Vob (although it plays fine). Any ideas as to how I can fix it?

Rip my butt. (LMAO, ROTF!). Do not rip anything, copy your VOB file directly from the DVD onto the hard drive with rest of the VOBs.
    Hello.

  5. Hi TK,

Sorry, my bad! I DID try to copy directly from the disc to the HD -

highlight .vob > drag to HD

As I said everything apart from 4 dragged across with no problems.

Then what happened when you tried to manually copy the fourth VOB to your hard drive?
    Hello.

    This one is simple

Click the option in ULEAD to NOT copy the source files folder.

Its is ON by default....By the way, not sure why it would be troublesome.

  9. Hi TK,

It got to 11% then crashed!

    Hi Arcorb,

I have burned quite a few discs without this happening before! I use DVD-Lab now which is why I want to copy the files and do a new menu.

    Hi Moviegeek,

I'll give that a go, cheers

One more suggestion. have you tried ripping while the main movie was playing?
    Hello.

  11. Hi TK,

PowerDVD played in a jerky fashion when I tried Decrypter at the same time. When I closed PowerDVD, Decrypter ripped upto 13% then crashed

  12. whenever i get cyclic redundancy errors it pretty much means the data on the disc was burned incorrectly or it just cant be read from the disc.

    you're pretty much boned.

What you can try is dvd decryptor and let it read for a very long time you might get lucky..

  14. yeah, then it will tell you've got an error it cant read.. then it will ask you if you want to retry or abort.. try again, retry/abort. its a vicious cycle, or cyclic redundancy error if you will

  16. I got a quick question... I've been getting that cycle reduncacy error too. I think its the burner right? I mean, I make my DVD images. I load them to daemo tools, and its plays fine. But when i burn them...they never work. Ahhhh.. what gives? My burner was working fine like last week? Could it be because I hooked up my two fans ? Sucking too much power? Or is my burner dead already. Lite on 411s FSOF.
    THanks
    Thx

If it has cycle reduncacy to it can mean 3 things.
    1. you got realy cheap dvds and those are really bad
    2. you player is broke.
    3. your player doesn't like your brand of dvds.

Try making a dvd with your disc at another dvd burner and see what happens. If you got the same problem then it are the disc. If not it is your burner or the combination of burner and disc. So you need to try a brand of dvds in your player that your friend uses without any problems and see what happens then so solve the problem for real.

Remeber to use an already burned disc without any cycle reduncacy error to make a copy of.

  18. OK guys heres another one!

When using DVD Decrypter I often get the following message, and then I have to use Ulead CD DVD image burner to burn the disc.

    >I/O Error

    Device: [3:1:0] Matshita DVD-RAM LF-D 310 A128 (H:]

    Scsi Status 0x02
    Interpretation: Check Condition

    CDB: AC 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 32 03 00
    Interpretation: Get Performance

Interpretation: Invalid Field in CDB <

Anyone got any ideas what this means?

  19. I began having these happen with my dvd ram from my e30 panny, when I try to copy it to my hard drive. Usually, I just end up restarting whatever I have done since it was a bad "burn" (after I clear the data and reuse the ram disc, it works fine.

Sometimes its the ole, "shit happens".

What you could do (if you have a lot of time and luck) is rip everything to your hard drive from the disc (with, say, dvddecrypter). when it gets to the offending vob file, pull the disc out and keep trying until it works or you get fed up and redo the whole thing.
