  1. I remember a while back someone posting a link to a program that when you insert a blank dvd-r, it reads the disc and displays all the information about the dvd.

Could someone post the program/link please?

    Thank you!

  3. Thank you.

One other thing.. Is there a webpage that illustrates what dvd-r brands are excellent/good/poor?

If you look over on the left hand side of the page you'll see DVD Media. Lots of user reviews there. You can compare what works for your particular equipment.

If you want a general guide, Taiyo Yuden, Maxell's made in Japan by Hitachi and Mitsubishi Chemical (Verbatim disks made in Singapore) are generally high quality. Ritek G04 disks have a rabid and vocal group of users as well.

Look at the media forum at www.cdfreaks.com for additional information and testing.

  6. Look to the left of the page under DVD Media. And hang around, the subject's heating up again on the forum. It's one of those hardy perennials, mow it down and it comes right back.
