  1. Hey I need some peoples impressions of any software they have used before that captures straight to DVD format ie mpeg2 with different quality settings etc

    I have used WinfastPVR before and that seemed to work not to bad.

    SO have any of you used some software you can recommend that does the above well?

  3. Try one of Ulead's products. I use media studio pro for direct to
    mpeg 2 when copying VHS tapes in good condition. Both Ulead Movie
    Factory and Ulead DVD Workshop use the same capture engine
    as media studio pro but cost less. There are fully working trial
    versions you can download for 30 days.

  4. Thanks for the replies offline I will check that out, because that is mainly what I will be doing VHS--DVD

    Smurf, I haven't really settled on a card yet, but I know it wont be one with hardware mpeg compression due to budget constraints

    maybe the leadtek 2000 but I know that comes with Winfast PVR etc, but I was wondering if there were any really good general 3rd party options that worked really well for people.
