  1. I got this dvd recorder for Christmas and love it however I have a couple questions:

    1. When using the time slip feature, how do you go back to watching what is on live or what you are recording? I cant figure out how to do it. When I press fast forward, it pauses at the end but it is not live.

    2. I have a Toshiba TV and can't get the panasonic remote included with the recorder to work on the tv. I have tried pointing the panasonic remote on the tv and pressing and holding the power button and then entering the tv code (09 for toshiba but it doesn't work). However I am not getting a special screen to enter the code in. Is there supposed to be a place where you enter the code on the screen. What am I doing wrong?

    Thanks and happy holidays!

Hehehe -- how about actual answers to your actual questions?

    1. To go back to the "live" picture, just hit the "Stop" button while you're watching the "recorded" video. You have to hit the "Stop" button again to stop the recording, so you're OK to do this without affecting the recording.

    2. I'm pretty sure there's no "on-screen" display for setting your remote control. It's just "hold the power button and input the two-digit code while you're holding the power button down." If it doesn't work, then I think you're hosed on that. About the only thing you might be doing wrong is holding down the wrong "power" button -- hold down the "TV" power button, not the "DVD" power button.

    Hope that helps!

  6. Okay I lied I have another question now.

When using timer flexible recording on a blank dvd-ram disc will the fr always choose to do xp quality first if you are recording a 30 or 60 minute program and then downgrade to sp mode after 60 minutes for the next program?

Can the recorder mix sp and xp quality or two other quality modes together for example if a program was an 1 1/2 hours.

Wow Im getting more confused about this not that I asked it!

Mixing XP and SP together ??

Good question ... last night ... I was using XP to copy some old VH-1 videos.

Remember when VH-1 would do 4 Days non stop A to Z videos ... during Christmas, Thanksgiving and 4th of July.

Well my VHS video tapes are getting old and so ... as I was recording them to the E50 ... I was starting to reach 60 minutes.

And was thinking about ... while in pause mode to switch to SP mode ... but what the heck ... I gambled and he he he ... Don Johnson - HeartBeat finished first with only a few seconds to spare.

I was using Maxell DVD-RAM disks from Wal-Mart.
