Hi,

I am using a Panasonic DVD S75 to play my SVCD slideshows. The slideshows are created using MemoriesOnTV (and Tmpgenc). The problem is that when I use background music in the menu's the menu shows up for a second and then disappears. The show can still be played.

If I create the slideshow(with menu background music) using Nero 6 it works OK.

I can see a difference in the directory structure (NERO 6, MemoriesOnTV) on the burnt SVCD.

NERO 6 (working)

EXT with SCANDATA.DAT
MPEG2 empty
SEGMENT with ITEM001.MPG..........ITEM007.MPG
SVCD with ENTRIES.SVD, INFO.SVD, LOT.SVD, PSD.SVD
SEARCH.DAT; TRACKS.SVD

MemoriesOnTV (NOT working)

EXT with SCANDATA.DAT
MPEG2 with AVSEQ01.MPG
SEGMENT with ITEM001.MPG,ITEM002.MPG
SVCD with ENTRIES.SVD, INFO.SVD, LOT.SVD, PSD.SVD
SEARCH.DAT; TRACKS.SVD

1. Why does the directory structure differ?

2. Why does the NERO 6 version work on my player and not the MemoriesOnTV version? (if I remove the menu music from MemoriesOnTV, it works and the structure of the directories are as above except that there is only a ITEM001.MPG file in the SEGMENT directory)

3. Is my player only supporting the NERO 6 structure?

4. Does the Tmpgenc encoder effect the menu music?

5. The below quote is from MemoriesOnTv online FAQ, indicating that my player does NOT support menu music, but it does (the NERO 6 version)

"
When I play the (S)VCD on my DVD player, the menu appears for a split second and goes blank.

The current menu music feature is compatible with many, but not all DVD players. Nevertheless, the album will still play if you press the right number on your DVD remote.

As a workaround, you can try disabling menu music."

Does anyone have any idea of what the problem can be? Is it that simple that my player does not support certain formats or....?

Thanks in advance
