  1. I have a few video files I have here of which I want to convert so I can use on DVD-R. They're an assortment of DivX / XviD files some are full screen and 640x480 is there any way to change this to 720 x 480 without having a black bar at the bottom? Also when I try to encode the XviD files to mpeg (btw I use TMPGEnc) I get no picture. Does anyone have any idea on how to fix these problems?

Stay with the TMPGEnc way for a while. To get rid of the black screen, click here.

Also, TMPGEnc has a Clip Frame function that removes the black bar.
    Hello.

For reference, a 640x480 AVI is pretty much the same thing as a 4:3 720x480 DVD MPEG2. TMPG will convert that puppy just fine, no black bars.

  4. I tried that and I went to the DVD-Compliant MPEG-2 and tried several things there I also should've mentioned that I'd kinda like to keep the video the same aspect not squashed looking is there any possible way to do that or is it just impossible. if there's no way to day that then is it possible to just put the 640 x 480 onto a DVD-R and play it off most/all standalone dvd players
