    Hi, guys:
I am now playing with encoders, I tried TMPGEnc, Honestech and Ligos, somehow neither wants to accept an edited AVI file. I capture and edit in Premiere. Editing is most basic - cutting out some parts and splicing the remainder together. At this point I did not care about the matching audio track, but I still made sure that there is no gaps in it and that its length is the same as that of the video before exporting the timeline.
TmpgEnc and Honestech accept the raw captured AVI file with no problem, but when I try to load an edited version, it gives a message "file "..." cannot load or unsupported".
They would not even take an AVI file in ES mode, which was formed by "Export the Timeline" command in Premiere 6.0, without any editing.
LSX (Ligos) did not accept any of my AVIs, not even raw, unedited ones and gave me a 2-stage msg:
"Audio stream has unsupported format or compression type. This program supports only PCM audio format with sample rates 11025,22050,44100, 48000 Hz" (after clicking "OK", next msg comes up
"Encoder failed to decompress AVI video stream. Possible reason: cannot find appropriate video codec. AVI file may be corrupted or use unsupported video compression format. Please select valid input AVI file."
Did anyone stumble over smth like this?
    Thx walter

The TMPGEnc error is common, so click here.

    Many thanks, Tommyknocker!
I had a look at that page, it is a very detailed, I am sure it will be helpful. I have so little time to play with this stuff, that without this forum I would have probably given up already!
