All I can say is I'm in love. Dual 15" LCDs is way better then my 19"CRT I have on the second machine. Check it out.

second that - I love my dual monitor setup, I just wish I could afford a pair of LCD monitors instead of the 17" CRT's I'm using now. (but what the hell, I have a large desk to put them on...)

I've never much liked LCD displays, but dual displays are always nicer than a single. I had dual 19" CRTs and a 30" TV monitor being run off my video machine until my other PCs monitor died and I had to pirate one of the 19s. I've got dual 21" displays at work both at 1600x1200 res too. The best part about having all that space is being able to have loads of toolbars showing on a lot of design/production apps. When I had the two monitors at home I'd have the preview window in Premiere output to the TV, one long timeline window spanning the two across the bottom, and almost every possible toolbar in view above it. Or I'd have Premiere open in one and After Effects open in the other and be working in both almost simultaneously. Unfortunately most games don't seem to like dual displays, but it's sometimes handy to have a guide open on one monitor for the game you're playing on the other.

How are you outputting to both LCDs? Are they both DVI connectors or are they VGA? What video card are you running them on?

2 monitors because one is a cheap LCD thats also part of my Free All in one computer mentioned in a recent thread, its a cheapo with standard VGA output that now runs to a switch box. It can be either my second monitor OR the screen on my second computer by flipping a switch. The 2nd LCD is this: http://www.newegg.com/app/viewProductDesc.asp?DEPA=1&sumit=Go&description=ve500&searchdepa=1

Which is an awsome monitor with great response, but for some reason uses a VGA input also, so I just picked up an apple DVI/VGA adapter and went to town.

BTW to anyone using dual monitors I cannot suggest strongly enough that you download and use a program called Ultramon, until I tried it I didn't even like having two monitors.

    Ultramon: http://www.realtimesoft.com/ultramon/

What does it do? Tons here is a small snippet. Check out their site...

    • Window management
Quickly move windows between monitors or maximize a window to the desktop using the additional window buttons added by UltraMon.

    • Smart Taskbar
UltraMon adds an additional taskbar for each secondary monitor, and each taskbar only shows tasks from the monitor it is on. This makes managing lots of open applications much easier, and when activating an application, you'll know on which monitor it will appear.

    • Application positioning
Use the UltraMon tabs added to a shortcut's properties to set an application's position or use custom display settings when the application is running.

    • Display profiles
With display profiles, you can quickly change the settings of one or more monitors. You can also create a display profile that gets applied when logging in, especially useful when the computer is used by more than one person, and not everyone wants to use the same display settings.

    • Desktop wallpaper
The UltraMon wallpaper manager adds the ability to use a different picture on each monitor, or stretch a single picture across the desktop.

    • Screen savers
Most screen savers only run on the primary monitor. UltraMon can blank the secondary monitors when the screen saver is running, or run additional screen savers on secondary monitors.

    • Mirroring
Mirror the primary monitor on one or more secondary monitors, for example when doing a presentation. A unique feature is support for different resolutions, the primary monitor can run at a higher resolution for example. Mirroring is only available on Windows 2000 and XP.

    • Use more than 10 monitors
UltraMon provides a custom Display Settings applet with support for configuring more than 10 monitors. You can quickly configure even large numbers of monitors using the included monitor arrangement tools.

These are only the main features of UltraMon, for detailed information, take the Feature Tour.
