Removing Macrovision is quite simple.
Go to your local Circuit City and buy a Sima CopyMaster.
Mine cost $35. It is a piece of hardware designed to help boost the signal from a VCR or DVD player. In the process the Macrovision signal is filtered out.
The unit has composite connecters, as well as an S-Video plug, for both in and out.

HAVE YOU TRIED THIS WITH VCR TO PC VIDEO CARD LIKE ATI AIW OR JUST TO VCR I HAVE ALOT OF MOVIES ON VCR BUT AIW WILL NOT CAPTURE DUE TO THAT DAMN MACROVISION BS
-
There are legal macrovision removers and I believe you can get them for even cheaper than that. Look at Radio Shack. If they don't have it they should be able to order it for you.

You could also try (no guaranty!) the "Ati_Demacro" tweak
(divx-digest - forum - Macrovision free.
The best bet is still the Sima box.
