I hope you are talking about home movies you made yourself.

Easiest way is to use DVD Decrypter in ISO READ MODE which RIPS the DVD disc to your computer's HDD as a single large ISO file. Then use DVD Decrypter in ISO WRITE MODE to burn this to a blank. You can keep burning as many blanks from that one ISO file until you are done ... then delete it from your HDD.

You would be ill advised to use NERO for ANY type of DVD burning project. Stick to using NERO with CD-R/RW discs.

  6. Why don't you try it.

Almost everything depends on what kind of computer you have & what operating system.

I use Record now max for all my dvdr recordings. All you need is the VIDEO_TS folder. Make sure you select Data- options and under dvd select closed. Then add the VIDEO_TS folder and burn away.
Nero was tempermental for me.RNM works every time.

I have used the DVD Copy function in Nero 6 with great success. Works fine on the DVD's I have authored which have no copy protection or encryption

???You would be ill advised to use NERO for ANY type of DVD burning project???

You must be "one unlucky dude", or suffer from hardware problems!.

Must be dumb luck I guess. I have burnt 40-50 DVD's using Nero with no problem on all, either in terms of ruining a disc or playback on any of my 4 DVD players and 4 DVD ROM drives. This is using a Sony DRU500A. I use primarily DVD-RW or DVD+RW with DVD+R for those I eventually want to save

OTOH I have authored and burnt discs using Ulead DVD Movie Factory and found they won't play on one of my players. I guess YMMV

If you hang out on here enough and read enough you will start to understand that MANY people have trouble with NERO when it comes to burning DVD discs.

Some claim that it was an "old" problem that is now fixed but I still see people complaining about it all the time.

I use a method that doesn't involve NERO and uses FREEWARE and works 100% of the time.

I don't trust NERO for much these days except CD burning.

  14. People have issues with every piece of burning software out there.

I think the fastest way for you is to use the Disc Copy method in Nero.

Ahead updates their software far more often than any other manufacture I've run across (bar, perhaps Microsoft and their security updates ) Of course, the updates are pretty big, since they're produced as complete installation packages. Unless the majority has broadband connections and is pretty serious about keeping current, it's unlikely that the latest and greatest is what you'll hear complaints about.

I've used Nero for a number of projects, and have yet to burn a coaster on either CDR or DVDR. For all the tools and utilities you get in the package, it's a far better value than anything the competition has to offer (in the commercial software realm, anyway).

And Recode 2.0 is pretty dayum slick.

  16. For DVDs you've made yourself you don't need to rip them or compress them or shrink them. All you need to do is as if it were a floppy disk or a normal CD data disk and "make an exact copy" in most any burning software.

The reason for Ripping DVDs is to get around the copy protection on those disks and to shrink them to fit a normal DVD-R. Disks "We" make are not copy protected and can be copied very easily. Most burning programs have that option.

Good luck and Merry Christmas everybody.
