I have tried to uninstall all of my codecs especially xvid codec. i think i got all of them but xvid wont let me. i want to start from scratch. the reason for this is b/c when i play any avi file movie now it comes in black, green, pink, and all sorts of diff colors. sound works just fine but no video. i have no idea what to do. is there a good codec pack i can use i am tring gordian knot codec pack. is that a good one? is there a special way to uninstall all of my codecs? i have tried in controll panel sound and controllers and went to hardware to video codecs and removed them all. i also went to add/remove programs. uninstalled them all but xvid wont let me uninstall because of xvid.ax file in windows\system32 wont unregister for some reason. is there any other way to do this. also i have been converting avi's to vcd's for like 3 months now everyday and now i can't because everything is in colors (green, black, pink, etc) its like someone just colored it in. when i open i file in vdub it shows up just fine. but not when i play it or convert it. can anyone help me please. this is and emergency at 100% need to be fixed soon. please someone. anyone's input is greatly apprieciated. even if you don't know. its still something telling me someone cares about my problem. THANK YOU!

  3. Try restarting in safe mode. That should allow you to uninstall it. I think never tried. And I think the GK codex pack is as good as anything. Its what I use but im not expert.
