Hello. After so much time of searching a good DVD authoring, I found the best is DVD-Lab, for me. Now, I need to find the best for VCD authoring, anyway I almost only author DVD, some times I need to make a vcd for somebody. So, I like very much the Nero Vision Express 2 caracteristics about menus, chapters, motion thumbs, background music/video. But.. i came to the conclusion that reencoding quality (or transcoding as nero names it) sucks. and it cannot be disabled. So Im looking for a software to make those cool things but wihout reencoding so i can preserve the original quality of the movie. Is out there such program??? (Do I want something imposible?)
Whats the best choise for authoring VCD, guys?
thanks. 8)

I use Nero, its simple and you can disable re-encoding of non compliant files. A lot of people prefer VCDeasy

No you can't disable it. You can do it in Nero, but not in Nero Vision Express.

you can disable reencoding? ive made vcd compliant mpgs in another program & used nero to create vcd but it insists on reencoding them & making them bad quality & irregular sizes

i do belive that there is an option to overburn in the settings part of the program. as far as the iso images, not real sure what they are...i just use the images for my scenes from the scene selection menu off the dvd.
