Muxed audio/video just means that you have a file with both audio and video. I would assume that TMPGEnc DVD Author would accept MPEG-1 with perhaps an animation or sequence or still frame that will act as a visual background while the audio plays. I know there is a looping setting as well.
    If in doubt, Google it.

  5. mp2 or pcm. Given certain conditions, ac3.

For more info, open TDA; select options>help>specifications. Also read associated (asterisked) helpfile audio footnotes.

If your input file is already muxed with acceptable video/audio filetypes, it will be automatically entered into both video/audo TDA input windows when using it's "add file" function...

Valid audio formats for DVD's (mpg2 video at least - I've not bothered with mpg1 as quality isn't worth it when I can do mpg2 -> DVD) are AC3 & PCM (also known as WAV). Some DVD playes (particularly like in Europe) may also accept mp2 audio.

What I do is take the picture I want and the song I want, put them in Adobe Premiere and output it to a DVD compliant mpg2 video. That video is what I load as the background in TMPGENc DVD Author. You might be able to do this with TMPGEnc as well using the 'Tools', but I haven't tried it.
