I'm on to my second 'project' - and I was wondering what the most efficient method of authoring might be.
I have my 'assets' prepared: my background picture, menu subpictures, mpv and ac3 movie files.
The manual presents the process as:
1. Add language folder to VMG and VTS file(s)
2. Add title menu to each language folder in the VMG.
3. Add titles to VMG if applicable.
4. Add root menus to language folder created in VTS.
5. Add additional menus and submenus to title folders as required.
6. Drga & drop video track onto each title folder.
7. Add audio, subpicture, angle video and streams in Track editor (as required)
8. Then you are ready to add PGC Link Commands and Navigotor commands.
Some of the above I don't require for my present project - such as added titles in VMG, subtitles etc.
My question is - as chaptering isn't mentioned in this basic list - should I import my movie files into the Track Editor and set the chaptering points first. Then drag and drop this 'chaptered' file into the Title folder of the Scenario editor (which is what I've been doing) - or should I set everything else up first then chapter.
It seems to me that having the chaptering completed prior to makes the rest of the process more streamlines - with less backtracking - than would otherwise be the case - but being so new to Scenarist I wasn't sure if this would create other problems.
So - if anyone could provide me with some feedback re: their preferred 'authoring process' and possible pros' and con's of each method that would be great.
Thanks
Gadfly
PS - does Scenarist have to multiplex the video track after every chapter point is set? - especially if you are previewing in the Simulation Window - in order to check for the most suitable 'chapter point'?
