hello
Today i burned my first dvd disc, i converted movie from XVID file and burned it with Adobe encore dvd.
i played to movie and at the menu my mp3 audio file played but with background interruptions.
the second problem was that the second half of the movie played witout sound.
the last problem was that the movie didn`t play smooth. in some parts the picture ran little slowly.
when i burned the movie the encore dvd informed me that my project estimate size is larger from the disc capacity and i continued anyway with the burning.
do you think that there is connection between the encore dvd messege to my problem?
if not what can cause to my problems?
thanks
ofir

Are you sure that your XVid video has a compliant framerate?
Have you recorded something more dvd compliant on those DVD-R's you are trying to play? May be the problem is with their's bad quality.
But the problem is interesting, especially that the second part of the movie is without sound...
Could you be more specific about the source file?Arek -
I can think of numerous issues.
Was the XviD in 2 parts? The second 1/2 having no sound usually comes from improper splicing of 2 source files.
MP3 isn't a DVD spec sound file.
Specs on the source file? Garbage in = Garbage out
And yes, if it tells you it's too big, it's too big. Size of the source has nothing zero zip nada squat to do with the output file size. Lower your encoding bitrate to keep the project in spec.To Be, Or, Not To Be, That, Is The Gazorgan Plan -
hello again and thanks for the answers.
i noticed that the last problem come from the video encoding and not from the burning.
i follow badrick guide DIVX\XVID to DVD with AC3.
what can cause to my last problem in the video encoding process?
my source file i came at 2 parts but i merged them to one file.
at the preview in ENCORE DVD the sound works perfectly so i still don`t know what is the problem.
my source file is proprties:
XVID codec, 23 fps, data rate: 214kbs, video simple size: 24 bit, res:640*272
Audio: 448kbps
i will try to encode the video again but i am not think that it will help, i used same setting so nothing could be metter...
https://www.videohelp.com/forum/userguides/186739.php#3 i used these settings and dont know what is wrong.
sorry for my bad english.
