What is the best for the fastest encoding possible with dvdshrink, nero recode, etc... More memory? Faster CPU? Faster Motherboard BUS? It takes about 48 minutes on my P4 1.9 w/512 meg memory to recode with DVDShrink. Is that normail? What can I do to get the fastest encoding possible.
What is everyone's opinion?
Thanks.

encoding is cpu dependant. cache, memory ect... is not big factor, its about processing power!!

Let's beg the question: WTF do you need it so fast? Just curious? I mean your backing up DVD's you own, so what's a few minutes?
The answer to your question is CPU power. It's not a memory or disk I/O question. It's also a question or ripping speed, if you can't rip the DVD at better than 2x, then it's going to take forever to do. Sounds like your problem is DVD drive issue, as I can do a backup in about 12 minutes(deep analysis takes about 40).To Be, Or, Not To Be, That, Is The Gazorgan Plan
