I know this must be a simple question but I don't know the answer.

I have a pioneer a106. I am going to make my own dvd from home movies. Do I have to set the region in my burner. I says that I can only change it 5 times.

    Thanks in advance.

  2. Region codes are for playback/reading only. And usually only used by companies releasing films on DVD so they can control where which film is released first. Very narrow minded and ancient history if you ask me, but then again Hollywood is still old fashioned in some ways.

I haven't set my region yet and am making DVDs without problems.

Only set it when you want to play a film or something that is specifically made for a certain region. There are by the way ways to make your burner/reader multi-region... just don;t ask me how Check the internet

  3. No, you only need to set the region if you want to play a region encoded DVD in the drive.

If I have two dvd drives in my computer, a dvd-rom and a dvd-burner, can each drive be set to a different region?
