  6. If you are using Win XP or 2000, try flushing your DNS cache with the following ...

From the command prompt type: ipconfig /flushdns

    Try accessing it afterwards.

Also -- if you know the IP address of the website (dvdcoverart is 207.44.184.122 and DV-Depot is 207.44.184.121), type it into your browser intead of the URL and see if you can access it. They appear to be owned (or at least hosted) by the same company as their IP address is only 1 apart.

If the website has changed their IP adress (i.e. changed hosting company, etc.) it can take several days to a week for the new DNS entry to propogate to all DNS servers across the internet.

DNS is what resolves the domain name www.dvdcoverart.com to the actual IP address for that site. As for being able to access it from the office -- it is proabably that your employer has their own DNS server or uses a different ISP's DNS server which has the correct entry in it's DNS table.

This site is helpful in resoving a URL to the actual IP adress, in addition to other things ... http://network-tools.com/

BTW -- I cannot access it with the URL either via Comcast.

When these sites charge you for downloading a DVD cover aren't they breaking the law. Aren't they charging for distributing copyrighted material which they clearly do not own?

  12. What operating system are you running? For Win98 it would be different.

For Windows 2000/XP got to START/run and type in "cmd.exe". That will open the command prompt box. Type in the command "ipconfig /flushdns".

That's it. Although I'm not sure it will help your particualr situation as the site has reported DNS problems. Won't hurt anything though !
