Hi thanks for reading this and trying 2 help me. Sorry about the subject I couldn’t really think of anything that would describe what i am trying to say. But hopefully it is good enough.

Well my problem is: I have a few movies that I have ripped straight from my DVDs and put them to SVCD so I don’t damage my original DVD’s and I only use them when I want to watch special features. I have been doing this for sum time now so I know what i am doing well I think I do anyway.

They have all played well until recently when I would play them on my stand alone DVD player. They would play nicely and occasionally the frame would freeze and audio might make a weird noise and then it would be out of sync. All I have to do is press pause and then un-pause it again and it works fine. But this is very annoying as this happens about every 4 to 6 minutes.

I’m encoding use DVD2SVCD and creating an Mpeg file that I take into Nero and burn at 4x. I have a lite-on LTR-52327S and 4x is the slowest it will go. I use Laser gold cd's and I have never had a problem. My standalone DVD player is a Pioneer Dv-533k.

When I play these movies in my computer DVD drive (pioneer dvd-106) I don’t get any sync errors or video errors. Sometimes in the past I have had errors when they play on the computer and also on the mpeg file that dvd2svcd creates. These errors are like blocks that just freeze but the rest of the movie keeps going. I mean it pixelates in certain areas and when this happens it causes the video to go out of sync. These errors also happen when converting very high quality music videos which are Xvid files.

    My questions are:

    1. What is causing the errors in the original Mpeg files created my DVD2SVCD and what can I do to correct this?

    2. Why do I sometimes get errors on the standalone but not on the computer DVD drive? And how can I correct this?

Thank you in advance for trying to help me and if there is anything other information that you need just ask and I will respond. I am sure there has to be someone else with the same problem as I am having.

Usually these problems are from poor media, poor burn, burn too fast, burner starting to die or need cleaning, dvd player starting to die or need cleaning, usually the cd/dvd-rom can handle a weakly burned cd better than a home dvd player.

    thanks for replying so fast.

I know thats why it can be caused but its a brand new burner my old one what was a 52x 24x 52x broke so i bought a new one about a week or 2 ago and they ahve all worked. The same thing with the cd's the cd's i use i have used for ages and never had a problem with them. It doesnt happen on every movie only a few. IT happens at differant times durning the movie and u dont know when it is going 2 happen. I have cleaned both the burner and the standalone and it still keeps happening. I do remeber that i use to be able 2 burn svcd at 32x then it went 2 24x then 12 then 9 and now 4x without errors but now i sumtimes get errors at 4x and thats as slow as i can burn.

Thanks for ur comment and i will look more into it maybe ill get the dvd player profesionaly cleaned and see if that makes a differance but i really dont think it will.

If there is anyone else with comments of anything please say

thanks again for all of your help

Are you putting any labels on the cd`s?That has caused problems for people including me.Cleaning your dvd player can make a difference.Just pop the cover off and clean the lense with isopropyl alcohol and a q-tip.

I have the same problem also, new burner and random pixelation on some cd`s and none on other cd`s,i`ve come to the conclusion that the cd`s are not as good as they can be from one to the other.

  8. Look at this: https://www.videohelp.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=193920

It seems that it is the same problem. Concerning the solution, sth has to do with the field ordering. Currently, Iam trying to use all possible combinations. It seems that (using Canopous procoder) the Non_Interlacing option (when create the mpeg file) works. I will keep the thread above infomed of any progress. Try this option and let us know...

OK...now im really confuzed. This is what i have done

Burnt it normal its is 2cd i watched it yesterday and 1st cd sync erros..2nd cd sync errors. They are sync errors that happend at differant times fade in and out.

I burnt the 2nd cd to a RW i cleaned the DVd player opened it and cleaned it. Watched the movie again this time with the 2nd cd as RW and first cd as the normal one i watched b4. This time same type of errors but in differant places. On the RW only 3 errors happend but they were in differant times as well.

I took all 3 of the cd's to a differant dvd player and it got errors in totaly differant places. Sum times it would just jump and still b in sync sometimes it would just go out of sync. This happend differant times differant places.

I got the original files that are still on the harddrive in mpeg 2 form. They have errors in the places where it stuffed up..and other errors in other places where nothing happend and nothing showed up. I use Cinimar craft encoder 2.5 in DVD2SVCD.

WHat else can i do? what is the problem? Im going to try and use differant types of cd's and use vcdeasy to make an image then burn it using nero or sumthign else. At the moment i just create a SVCd in nero and drag and drop the file into it and it doesnt re encode it or anything. Is there anything else anyone can ssujest to try? or might know what the problem is.

I think it is just a problem that happens sumtimes doesnt happen other. Coz i have other movies that dont have any problems and have done them the exact same way burnt at the same speed same cd's same program everything.

Please help me fix this problem or sujest sumthing else i can try.
