This has happened on both my system and my wife's. Latest versions of TMPGEnc, everything will work beautifully for a while, we'll convert a ton of AVIs to VCD and then... *BLAM* it stops working. Every time you try to run anything, "TMPGEnc has generated an error and is shutting down". Yadda yadda, I'm sure you've seen it before too. The only way to get it to work again is to completely uninstall everything, edit the registry, etc. and reinstall. Then it's fine for a while again.
It isn't a *HUGE* hassle, but it's a pain to go through all the uninstallation steps and reinstalling and re-registering again and again and again...
Ideas?

Sorry, none, since my experience is "install & forget" - been running TMPGEnc on 2 boxes "for ages" (one XP, one W2k) and never had to touch the installation even once. I regularly perform "open heart surgery" on both hardware and software, but TMPGEnc ticks happily along...

I have had the error message pop up once. But my most common problem is that it will just shut down with no errors and for no apparent reason. Again, like you this is no major problem just a little annoying. Not sure if that is a symtom you have also received.
