I was not sure where to put this I hope this is alright. I need to know if I can use a computer with a sound card as a small PA system and if so how.
Thanks

I would like to hook up a Mic to my sound card and have my voice play over the systems speakers. Is there a way to make this work?
Thanks

Yes it will work.
If you have W2k or WXP go to the control panel and click Sound and Audio devices icon.
Once the applet opens, make sure that the checkbox called Place volume icon in the taskbar option is check.
Close the applet. Now in the lower right of you task bar you will have a little speaker. Double click on it and Master Volume screen will open.
In this window, look for the Microphone audio source. If it is not listed, click on Options menu, and then in Properties.
Now check on the Volume control for Microphone, and click OK.
Now you will be back at the Master Volume screen and you will have the Microphone option.
To enable the Mic, just un-check Mute under Microphone and increase the gain until you hear an acceptable volume.
Hope this helps.
