HI,
I have a set of dvd's which contain information regarding parts and service infomration for certain industrial machines. There are seven dvd's and they were quite expensive to buy from the manufacturer. As i use the DVD's every day i want to back them up so that if one becomes damaged i have a spare. I have recently bought an lg multiwriter and nero 6. The problem i am facing is this. When i go to add the files from the dvd to a new data dvd on nero, it appears that there is over 7gb of data on the dvd. When i saw this i went into mycomputer on win xp and i rightclicked on the drive and selected properties. It said there was 7.7gb of information on the disc. I have looked around on the internet and i cannot find anywhere thast sells dvd's that hold that much. The dvd's were made in 2001 and so i cant believe that the dvd's could be a new technology. Can anybody help? could this be some sort of copyright protection. Most of the infomration is either .tif files or text. There is a very large amount ue to the amount of machinery the firm manufacture. Any help would be extremely helpful,
Thanks.

the dvd's you are trying to back up are dvd9. you can only burn to dvd5 now. you will have to split the disk or shrink them to make them fit.

HI again,
So is there no way of buying and writing to dvd-9 at present?
Thanks,
