  1. I am trying to author two mpeg files about 2.15 gb in size each. I want one title not two titles (Movie 1 and Movie 2). Is it possible? The reason I want to do this so I can put chapter points and move forward and back.

I know I can achieve this if I can merge the two files. Problem is that the merged size of the file will be over 4.0 gb. I have tried TMPEnc and mpeg-vcr without any success.

Is there a solution for this?

  2. Yes, there is a solution.

Import both movies, put each one in it's own section(movie1 and movie2). Then go to connections and connect the end of movie1 to the beginning of movie2. When the compile is complete, the 2 movies will play as if they were one.

Yes, I use this technique a lot.

On a similar theme, it's also easy to make multiple titles from a single mpeg file: add chapter points at the required start positions and link the buttons to the relevent chapter. Great for those tapes containing more than one birthday etc without having to split files.

  4. I have tried this mehod, problem is that you can move forward where chaper marks are within the moie 1 or movie 2 but you can not move between movie 1 and movie 2. You need to put put a chapter mark at the end of the first movie 1 to move to a chapter in movie 2. Still you can not move from movie 2 chapter to movie 1 chapter, unless you go to the menu screen. It sucks!

There has to be a better way!

  5. Compile each mpeg as a separate DVD, then use VOB/IFOedit to combine to one DVD.
