A 2.35 aspect ratio movie on DVD are they 720x480 or are they 720x304?
A full frame movie is 720x480 because it fills the TV screen?
    What about bits per pixel?

Valid DVD resolutions are mostly 720*480/576, but lower res may be found too. Look under WHAT IS (top left) for a complete run down.

    720x480 can be 4:3, 16:9 , and Anamorphic.

Makes ya go WTF??? It's call DAR or Display Aspect Ratio. VCD/SVCD is 4:3 only. 720/704 by 480/576 can be 4:3 or 16:9 or anamorphic, but lower res can only be 4:3 (like 352x480).

This is why you get fat/skinny people doing conversions the wrong way.

Oh yeah, all AVI's have a DAR of 1:1 and never anything else (confusing isn't it?). Of course AVI's have a display ratio (like 640x480) that is used in conversions, but it's not related to DAR directly.
